How hard is it to find someone to start and complete a project or construction job for you? It can be difficult if you don't know the right steps to take at the beginning of the job. It all begins with a completely written out contract that includes draw payments, proof of insurance, dispute resolution clauses, complete list of job material (or as complete as can be drawn up), start and estimated completion dates, a signature page, change order page with signature and explaination for how to submit a change order. These are the basics of a good contract and it will help the owner identify a good company from a fly by night company. Also, the company should have a legitmate license number that can be checked out on the Contractors State license boards website.
